Anthropic has introduced tiered pricing for its Claude 3 API (Application Programming Interface), as outlined below. The cost of Claude 3 Opus, its top-tier API offering, is approximately double that of GPT-4, averaging at $30 per million tokens. Meanwhile, Sonnet, its mid-tier version, comes in at less than the price of GPT-4, priced at $6 per million tokens. To put it into perspective, GPT-4 Turbo is priced at $15 per million tokens on average.
